Prionochilus Plateni
Forms a superspecies with P. percussus and P. xanthopygius, although some range overlap between
these two species in Borneo; present species (in both sexes) is intermediate
between these two in plumage characters. Described formjohannae considered indistinguishable from
nominate. Two subspecies recognized.
